So Clare comes up to me and says "how about we do Brandon and I's shoot around the old Alfred Hitchcock movie "North by Northwest"" where I responded, "Let me think for a second...... um yes!!" So thats what we did. Clare found a pilot and we made some magic. She's gotten some great feedback on her save the date cards with the final image we made. It's awesome. You'll see that in a few minutes. But first here's some shots to let you know what the day was like, and also mixed in are some portraits that make me smile...

clares'-1st-page.jpg
When I talked to the pilot about what we were going for his response was that the plane they used in the original shoot with Cary Grant seen here, flew about 90mph were his plane was going to be going around 170mph. Just a lil difference in speed ;) but we made it happen. They first time it flew over our heads we about peed ourselves. the plane was low, real low!! Here's some fun images we got.

Now for the final image.. Enjoy!!

Now these are the kind of engagement photos that you'll never forget.. To my future clients: Have fun with your photographs.. You don't have to do the same thing that your friends have done.. Let's make something memorable.

Clare and Brandon are basing their wedding on travel. Their wedding will be held at the 1940's airport museum at Hobby airport. So we've based their sessions on that theme. Which has been fun. I love it when couples want to do something different :) Here's a link to another shoot we did together. So simple but some much fun. CLICK HERE!

Hope you enjoyed...

The other night I was out and about and had my camera with me. I stopped at this little spot and grabbed a couple of shots. I just love the black and whites conversion in these frames.

My settings in camera were ISO 5000, Aperture 7.1 Shutter 1/3 (bulb)

I snapped off about 5 frames handheld. Post was in PS CS5.

Not sure if you care but this is my blog ;) Ha.

Cheers.

This week 31films took over our studio for their first ever workshop.. The craziness began on Monday and ended on Tuesday. 13 people ranging from photographers wanting to expand to videographers wanting to step closer to becoming cinematographers. The team over at 31films has some absolutely crazy talent, so when they announced they were putting on a workshop, Brooke, Josh and I said we would be honored if they held it in our studio... I've gotten the chance to work with these guys at some of my weddings and it is always a great time.. They are really the only guys I recommend to my clients. I haven't seen or worked with anyone better.. and I mean that. After you finish checking out this post head over and check out their work. it will blow your mind.
This workshop was about storytelling.. the do's and don'ts. What was great was watching Joey and Aaron give everything they know away. What I love about these guys is they want to add value to our industry.. and they did just that these last two days..

Joey and I were talking on Friday and he asked me if I would mind if they did a quick 60sec promo video of me to show the attendee's what they would do.. I looked at Joey and said, let me think about that for a second....... HECK YEAH!!! I wouldn't mind.. It was pretty cool. Joey and Aaron broke up the attendee's into 3 teams. They would have 30 mins to capture me working with my clients. Joey shot the interview and gave that part to the teams, but the rest was up to them. Then they had 3 hours to edit it in final cut pro. It was truly interesting to see what each team came up with. Let me say, for the limited amount of time and knowledge each team did a great job.. Such a cool experience.

Below is some pics that I captured during the workshop, but the true art is the video promo Joey and Aaron put together in just a couple of hours from shooting to the final edit..
IT. IS. AMAZING!

Joey and Aaron and the team...

you guys tore it up.. I know that your shook up some minds the past couple of days. You are some of the most talented people I know and so giving.. Never loose your hearts for the art you produce. It is changing the industry.. I'm honored to know you guys. Thanks so much for such a cool promo video.. I'm blown away.

I wish you guys all the best.
